MICA - Mike's Image Cataloguing Application

Executive Summary

MICA is a CGI program written in Perl that automatically generates an online photo album with minimum fuss. Drop MICA into /cgi-bin/, move your images to a web-accessible folder, create one subfolder for cached thumbnails and you're done. Create a captions subdirectory and your images have captions. Create any number of optional subdirectories named WWWxHHH (i.e. 800x600) and MICA will automatically generate copies in these dimensions and provide links to these versions.

Maintainer Information

MICA was written by Mike Alborn to scratch an itch for his site deandra.homeip.net. Mike licensed MICA under the GPL and posted the first web release on Wed May 19 22:43:04 2004 as release 1085031784. Mike Carr, after much self-promising to examine the MICA code, started pulling apart MICA mid-August 2004. Deciding that he liked what he saw he proceeded to steal/subvert and claim the code as his own personal project. Mike Alborn capitulated with good grace and the software switched maintainers August 30th 2004.

Mike Carr <mailto:mcarr@pachogrande.com> is the active maintainer of this code. Contact him with questions, comments or critiques (or patches if you're that motivated).
